A BIT ABOUT ME
I first stepped into the gym on a rehab program for an injury that I received playing rugby at 15. My initial goal was to repair my hamstring and then build up my strength, power and size to improve my ability on the rugby pitch.
I had no idea where to start. All I had was the “bro Science” that the older guys in the gym were telling me. I had no knowledge of programming, sets, reps, exercise selection, muscle anatomy, nutrition, recovery or mobility. Needless to say, I spent my first year in the gym doing bench press and bicep curls thinking that it would help me. It didn’t.
It wasn’t until I was 17 that I was taught proper technique, movement patterns and training intensity.
This is where I aim to help.
I want to educate and assist as many people as I can to improve their strength, fitness, performance and confidence and get in their best shape ever.
My initial goal of improving my speed, strength and power was put on hold after another rugby related injury at 18. I tore ligaments in my ankle, requiring surgery. In that 10 month wait, I had to adapt my training. It was during this time that I became really passionate about the health benefits of exercise and working out.
I spent the next few years widening my training experience, working on various goals, trialing different training methods such as functional fitness, power lifting, olympic lifting, strength & conditioning, hypertrophy specific training, and more recently competing in Hyrox competitions.
Having reached a point in my training career, that I felt I had achieved a respectable amount of experience I achieved my Personal Trainer qualification so that I can make a difference and help you become healthier, happier, fitter and stronger.
